ipv6/flowlabel: wait rcu grace period before put_pid() [Linux 3.16.72]

This Linux kernel change "ipv6/flowlabel: wait rcu grace period before put_pid()" is included in the Linux 3.16.72 release. This change is authored by Eric Dumazet <edumazet [at] google.com> on Sat Apr 27 16:49:06 2019 -0700. The commit for this change in Linux stable tree is 53b7d31 (patch) which is from upstream commit 6c0afef. The same Linux upstream change may have been applied to various maintained Linux releases and you can find all Linux releases containing changes from upstream 6c0afef.

ipv6/flowlabel: wait rcu grace period before put_pid()

commit 6c0afef5fb0c27758f4d52b2210c61b6bd8b4470 upstream.

syzbot was able to catch a use-after-free read in pid_nr_ns() [1]

ip6fl_seq_show() seems to use RCU protection, dereferencing fl->owner.pid
but fl_free() releases fl->owner.pid before rcu grace period is started.
